Charity Discharge Packs Expand Across South London, Surrey Hospitals

Rapper Dave, known for his role in Netflix's Top Boy and his Brit Award wins, has expressed deep pride in his mother, Juliet Omoregie, for founding the Juliet O Foundation, a charity providing free discharge packs to help vulnerable and elderly patients transition safely from hospital to home. Drawing on her 35 years of NHS experience, Juliet developed these packs, which include non-slip socks to prevent falls, hygiene essentials to reduce infections, and comfort items like tea and coffee, aiming to reduce hospital readmissions. The foundation originally launched at St George’s and St Helier Hospitals and has recently expanded to Epsom Hospital in Surrey, reflecting growing partnerships with UK businesses to support the initiative. Dave highlighted the meaningful impact of the mission and his support for his mother's vision as she self-funded the program initially. The charity addresses the stress many elderly patients face upon discharge due to lack of basic necessities, promoting patient independence and safety.
