Masanosuke Ono, a 21-year-old world champion wrestler from Japan, has officially committed to join the Penn State wrestling program, announced during an interview on FloWrestling Radio Live. This decision follows Penn State's recent victory at the NCAA Championships, marking their fourth consecutive national title. Ono, who won the world title at 61 kg in October 2024 and has been training with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, expressed excitement about competing for Penn State and learning folkstyle wrestling. He is expected to compete in the 133 or 141 weight classes, filling a vacant spot after All-American Beau Bartlett's graduation. With a record of 20-3 and notable victories, including over Olympic and reigning world champions, Ono is poised to become a strong contender for the upcoming NCAA Championships.
