18-Year-Old Arrested in Tarzana Hit-and-Run
An 18-year-old named Nathan Jaimes was arrested for a hit-and-run incident in Tarzana that resulted in the death of a 73-year-old pedestrian. The collision occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Ventura Boulevard when the victim was crossing the street and was struck by Jaimes driving a gray Honda Civic. Witnesses reported that the driver fled the scene without stopping to help the victim, who was declared dead upon the arrival of first responders. Police later found the abandoned vehicle and arrested Jaimes at his home in Reseda, where he was held on $30,000 bail on charges of felony hit-and-run causing death. The victim was believed to have been leaving a restaurant shortly before the incident. Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information to contact the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division.
