Algeria's Tassili Travail Aérien orders two aero-medical Cessna SkyCouriers for 2026
Textron Aviation has secured an order from Tassili Travail Aérien (TTA), a subsidiary of Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach, for two new Cessna SkyCourier aircraft configured for aero-medical operations, marking the first SkyCourier order in Africa and the first equipped specifically for air medical missions. These twin-engine turboprop aircraft, equipped with the LifePort PLUS Powered Medevac System, will be based in Algiers and Hassi Messaoud and will enable TTA to swiftly switch between passenger, cargo, and medevac configurations. The aircraft deliveries are expected in 2026 and will modernize TTA’s fleet by providing enhanced efficiency, reliability, and lower operating costs while supporting Algeria’s energy sector with passenger transportation, air ambulance services, and special missions. The Cessna SkyCourier is designed for challenging missions requiring high payload capacity and the ability to operate on short, rough runways, making it suitable for TTA’s diverse operational needs. Textron Aviation emphasized the aircraft’s versatility and its role in meeting special mission demands such as air ambulance, surveillance, and utility transport. This deal represents a significant advancement in medevac services across Africa and highlights the growing role of specialized aviation solutions in the region’s energy and healthcare sectors.
