DePaul University Soccer Player Chase Stegall Dies Unexpectedly at 20

Chase Stegall, a 20-year-old sophomore and midfielder for DePaul University's men's soccer team, passed away unexpectedly in a dormitory on campus. Known for his warmth, strength of character, and vibrant presence, Stegall played in 16 of the team's 17 games last season and was preparing for his junior season. He was the son of Milton Stegall, a former NFL and CFL football player notable for his time with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. University officials, including President Robert Manuel and Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy, expressed deep sorrow and offered support services to the community. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers also released a statement mourning the loss of Chase, describing him as a bright and talented young man with a promising future.
