CleanSpark Appoints SVP to Lead AI Data Centers

CleanSpark, the Nasdaq-listed bitcoin miner, has appointed industry veteran Jeffrey Thomas as Senior Vice President of AI Data Centers to lead its push into large-scale AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. Thomas brings more than 40 years of experience, having led Humain’s multi-billion-dollar AI data center program in Saudi Arabia and been credited with creating over $12 billion in shareholder value across 19 ventures. The company says it will leverage its vertically integrated model — self-developed sites, grid interconnections and land ownership — and has contracted additional power and real estate in College Park, Georgia while still evaluating giga‑campus and site‑conversion opportunities. The announcement came as CleanSpark’s shares jumped roughly 13–14% on Monday and the stock is up about 140% year-to-date in 2025, testing multiyear highs. Management frames the move as a diversification to strengthen long-term cash flow amid post‑Bitcoin‑halving pressures, a trend also seen at rivals such as Core Scientific, Hut 8 and Iris Energy.
