Dodgers Promote Kim After Edman Injury
The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially promoted South Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim to the major league roster after signing him to a three-year, $12.5 million contract. Kim's call-up follows second baseman Tommy Edman being placed on the injured list with an ankle injury, a setback for the team given Edman's strong start to the season. Kim, who excelled in speed and defense at Triple-A Oklahoma City, made his MLB debut as a defensive replacement and pinch runner, recording his first stolen base but not yet having a plate appearance. Manager Dave Roberts plans to gradually ease Kim into the lineup, primarily using him off the bench with occasional starts. Kim's promotion underscores the Dodgers’ commitment to international talent and adds to their roster depth. His arrival has generated excitement among fans, even as concerns remain over Edman's absence.
