TfL Unveils New Artworks for 25th Anniversary

Transport for London (TfL) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Art on the Underground programme with four new artworks set to debut in 2025. Ahmet Öğüt's large-scale piece, 'Whale’s Tail, Saved by Art', will be unveiled at Stratford station and invites public submissions about how art has impacted lives, alongside a trophy award for the best story. Rory Pilgrim will present a sound installation at Waterloo station, played on moving walkways, while Rudy Loewe will create a mural at Brixton station, contributing to the area’s rich mural history. Additionally, a new pocket Tube map featuring Agnes Denes' design will be released in spring. These projects aim to foster meaningful interactions between art and the public, enhancing the daily commuting experience.
