19-Year-Old Arrested for Driving Stolen Car Wrong Way on M11

A 19-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stealing a silver Land Rover and driving it the wrong way down the M11, threatening the safety of other road users. The police were alerted to the vehicle theft in Bishop’s Stortford, and officers briefly pursued the suspect before he drove dangerously, including going the wrong way around a roundabout. At Junction 7A, he continued southbound on the northbound carriageway, prompting officers to temporarily halt traffic. With assistance from the National Police Air Service helicopter, the suspect was tracked and apprehended after abandoning the vehicle. He faces multiple charges, including vehicle theft, dangerous driving, and possession of a Class B drug.
