GLIDA, formerly known as Fortum Charge & Drive India, has inaugurated its largest electric vehicle charging hub in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, featuring 102 charging points that can accommodate up to 102 cars simultaneously. The hub includes a 200KW ultrafast charger, multiple CCS2 dual gun DC chargers, and Type-2 AC chargers, aimed at significantly enhancing EV infrastructure in the region. Jayesh Ranjan, the Special Chief Secretary for Industries and Commerce, emphasized the hub's potential to boost electric vehicle adoption and improve air quality in the rapidly growing urban environment. This facility marks a pivotal moment for GLIDA, which first launched its EV charging services in Hyderabad back in July 2018. The hub's establishment aligns with a broader push towards sustainable transportation in India, as demand for electric vehicles continues to rise. GLIDA now operates 49 charging stations across Hyderabad, contributing to a total of over 740 charging points nationwide.
