Adrian Newey Joins Aston Martin in £20m Deal

Adrian Newey, the highly acclaimed Formula One designer, is set to join Aston Martin in a £20 million-a-year deal, leaving Red Bull Racing where he has contributed to 12 constructors’ and 13 drivers’ titles. Despite offers from Ferrari, McLaren, and Williams, Newey was swayed by Aston Martin's state-of-the-art facilities and future ambitions, including a 2026 partnership with Honda. His decision is expected to be officially announced soon, with his role commencing early next year. Fernando Alonso, currently driving for Aston Martin, emphasized that Newey's addition alone won't solve the team's issues but acknowledged the significant advantage his expertise could bring. Newey's move comes amid Aston Martin's efforts to bolster their technical team, having also recruited Dan Fallows from Red Bull and Enrico Cardile from Ferrari.
