Logitech Launches Solar+ K980 Keyboard with Replaceable Parts

Logitech has launched the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, a full-size wireless keyboard that uses its Logi LightCharge solar strip to recharge from sunlight or artificial light at 200 lux or higher and is available now starting at about $99–$110. Once fully charged the K980 can run up to four months in complete darkness and its internal rechargeable battery is rated for a 10-year lifespan; the keyboard does not include a USB charging port. The slim, low-profile scissor-switch keyboard includes a numpad, multi-OS key legends, Bluetooth Easy-Switch for up to three devices, an AI Launch key, and programmable shortcuts via the Logi Options+ app. Logitech says the battery and other parts are user-replaceable, with spare parts to be sold via iFixit, and the chassis incorporates recycled plastic; a Bolt wireless receiver is sold separately for business customers. Logitech positions the K980 as a cable-free, low-maintenance option for everyday office and Mac users.
