Flair Airlines Names Maciej Wilk Permanent CEO After Interim Year

Flair Airlines has officially appointed Maciej Wilk as its permanent CEO after serving as interim CEO for the past year, succeeding Stephen Jones who retired in June 2024. Wilk, who joined Flair in 2023 as Chief Operating Officer, has overseen the airline through significant challenges including weather disruptions and economic headwinds while focusing on improving reliability, affordability, and performance. Under his leadership, Flair introduced initiatives such as the 'On Time Guarantee' and the Flair FWD Take Off platform, enhancing customer experience with features like in-seat ordering and a revamped website. Wilk's prior experience includes a decade at LOT Polish Airlines and six years at PwC, bringing extensive operational and consulting expertise to Flair. Board Chair Jim Young noted that the best candidate had already been fulfilling the role, highlighting Wilk’s effective stewardship during his interim tenure. Wilk expressed excitement about the permanent role, emphasizing his commitment to efficient and accountable air travel for Canadians.
