Ensign Group Acquires Three Skilled Nursing Facilities Idaho, California
The Ensign Group has significantly expanded its skilled nursing portfolio with the acquisition of three facilities: two in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and one in North Hollywood, California. The Idaho facilities, Ironwood Rehabilitation and Care Center (80 beds) and Lakeside Rehabilitation and Care Center (100 beds), operate under long-term triple net master leases, enhancing Ensign's regional density and operational efficiency. The California acquisition, Toluca Lake Transitional Care (52 beds), will have its real estate acquired by Ensign's subsidiary, Standard Bearer Healthcare REIT, pending regulatory approvals. These additions bring Ensign's total healthcare operations to 347 facilities across 17 states and increase the company's owned real estate assets to 144 properties. CEO Barry Port emphasized the strategic importance of these acquisitions in key markets, reaffirming Ensign's growth trajectory in skilled nursing and healthcare services. This expansion aligns with Ensign's cluster model strategy and strengthens its market position through vertical integration of operations and real estate.
