Tajik National Charged with ISIS Support in Brooklyn

Mansuri Manuchekhri, a 33-year-old Tajik national living illegally in Brooklyn, was arrested for allegedly conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and ISIS-K. Federal prosecutors charged him with facilitating over $70,000 in payments to ISIS-affiliated individuals in Turkey and Syria, including a person arrested for a terrorist attack on a church in Istanbul. Manuchekhri reportedly trained with firearms in the U.S. and sent videos of himself using assault rifles to ISIS contacts. He faces additional charges of unlawful possession of firearms and immigration fraud, potentially facing up to 45 years in prison if convicted. The FBI launched an investigation after receiving a tip in August 2024 from a family member concerned about his radicalization and threats of violence. Court documents reveal Manuchekhri expressed support for ISIS attacks and possessed propaganda videos in his iCloud account.
