Search for 3 Missing After Fatal Boat Capsize in Jacksonville

A tragic boating accident occurred on the St. Johns River near Goat Island in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday evening, resulting in one fatality and three individuals, including two minors, still missing. The 18-foot vessel capsized around 8 p.m., with four people found on top of the boat and four others possibly trapped underneath. Rescue efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard, Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, and other agencies successfully rescued the four individuals on the vessel, but one person was later found deceased in the water. Search operations continued throughout the night and resumed Saturday morning, involving boats, divers, helicopters, and drones. Early investigations suggest that none of the individuals were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident. The cause of the capsizing remains under investigation.
