Meghan's Netflix docuseries suggested the interview was rehearsed, prompting Husain to emphasize that their interaction felt natural and unscripted. Furthermore, it was reported that Meghan preferred Oprah Winfrey to conduct the interview, feeling Husain lacked empathy. The BBC's director-general at the time also rejected Meghan's claims, reiterating that the interview was not staged.
