This accolade marks a continuation of a 17-year streak for Hendrick Motorsports drivers, with Elliott succeeding Dale Earnhardt Jr., who held the title from 2008 to 2017. Elliott's family legacy in NASCAR, particularly through his father Bill Elliott, who won the award 16 times, plays a significant role in his appreciation for the fans.
