Estoril Praia Honors Ayrton Senna with Tribute Kit Against Braga

Portuguese football club Estoril Praia will wear a special fourth kit inspired by Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna during their April 19 match against SC Braga, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Senna’s first Grand Prix victory at Estoril in 1985. The kit, which is not for commercial sale, is modeled on Senna’s iconic helmet and the Lotus 97T car he drove to victory, featuring dominant black with green, yellow, and navy blue stripes, along with gold detailing and embroidered tributes. Senna’s nephew, Bruno, recently honored his uncle by driving the 1985-winning Lotus at the Goodwood Festival in England, and the car will also be displayed at the Estoril circuit after the match. Estoril Praia’s tribute highlights Senna’s status as a national hero in Brazil and his deep connection to Portugal, particularly for his rain-soaked triumph that earned him the 'Master of Rain' nickname. Beyond his racing achievements, Senna is remembered for his philanthropic work, a legacy continued by the Ayrton Senna Institute. The gesture serves as a celebration of Senna’s enduring influence on both motorsport and social causes.
