MLB Owners Approve John Seidler as Padres Control Person

The official transfer of power will occur once John becomes the trustee of Peter's trust, a process that is expected to take about 30 days. This transition is complicated by a lawsuit filed by Sheel Seidler, Peter's widow, who accuses Peter's brothers, Matt and Robert, of mishandling funds and attempting to exclude her from control of the team. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has stated that the league does not foresee any sale or relocation of the team, contrary to allegations in the lawsuit. The approval was seen as a straightforward decision, given John Seidler's significant ownership stake in the team.
