Finn Allen's Record 19 Sixes Secure MLC Opener Win
Finn Allen of the San Francisco Unicorns delivered a record-breaking 151 off 51 balls, hitting a world-record 19 sixes, to lead his team to a 123-run victory over defending champions Washington Freedom in the 2025 Major League Cricket opener at Oakland Coliseum. His explosive innings set multiple T20 and MLC records, including the highest individual score, fastest 150 (in 49 balls), most sixes in a T20 innings, and the fastest century in league history (34 balls), surpassing marks held by Chris Gayle and Sahil Chauhan. The Unicorns posted a league-record 269/5, with significant contributions from Sanjay Krishnamurthi (36) and Hassan Khan (38*). In response, Washington Freedom started strong but collapsed after the powerplay, being bowled out for 146 in 13.1 overs. Unicorns bowlers Haris Rauf (3/30), Hassan Khan (3/38), and Carmi le Roux (2/35) were instrumental in the largest win in MLC history. Allen was named Player of the Match for his historic achievement.
