Whooping Cough Resurgence in 2024 Across Regions

Whooping cough, or pertussis, has seen a significant resurgence in 2024, with cases rising dramatically in several regions, including Minnesota, Illinois, and Singapore. In Minnesota, cases have surged from 61 in 2023 to over 2,300 in 2024, marking the highest numbers since 2012. This trend is echoed in Illinois, where the state recorded over 1,900 cases as of December, more than doubling the previous year's figures.
