Steve Lawson Found Guilty on All Charges in Crystal Rogers Case

Steve Lawson was found guilty on all charges, including conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence, in connection to the disappearance and presumed death of Crystal Rogers, a Nelson County mother who vanished in 2015. Lawson admitted to moving Rogers' car and picking up his son Joseph Lawson, who is also charged and scheduled to stand trial alongside Rogers' former boyfriend, Brooks Houck, who faces murder charges. During the trial, Lawson testified in his defense but denied knowledge of Rogers' death or Houck's involvement. Evidence presented included phone records placing Lawson near a key property overnight and calls among Lawson, his son, Houck, and others around the time of the disappearance. The jury deliberated for just over two hours before convicting Lawson, who was subsequently sentenced to 17 years in prison. The case remains open as Houck and Joseph Lawson await trial, and Rogers' body has never been found.
