SpiceJet Settles GST Dues Amid Debt Issues

SpiceJet has recently cleared all pending Goods and Services Tax (GST) dues and outstanding salary arrears, following a successful Rs 3,000 crore fundraising through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP). This financial boost has allowed the airline to settle employee salaries for July and August, along with remaining dues from June. Despite these positive steps, SpiceJet continues to face financial challenges, including an insolvency petition from Techjockey Infotech Pvt Ltd over unpaid operational debts of Rs 1.18 crore. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has issued a notice to SpiceJet regarding this petition, with several other insolvency cases still pending. The airline aims to use the fresh investment to improve operational performance and customer service.
