Alabama Rallies to Beat South Carolina 29-22
Alabama rallied late to beat South Carolina 29-22 at Williams-Brice Stadium after Gamecock QB LaNorris Sellers fumbled late — a turnover forced by Deontae Lawson that set up the Crimson Tide’s winning drive. Germie Bernard scored two late touchdowns, including a 25-yard direct snap, and QB Ty Simpson threw for 253 yards and two TDs as Alabama improved to 7-1 and remained No. 4 in the polls. Alabama’s opportunistic defense also produced a defensive touchdown and helped create the turnover that sealed the game. South Carolina dropped to 3-5 (1-5 SEC) and has lost three straight, putting its bowl hopes in jeopardy and prompting calls for offseason offensive changes while many still back coach Shane Beamer. Several true freshmen saw meaningful snaps (including LG Shedrick Sarratt Jr., WR Jayden Sellers and Donovan Murph), and recruiting activity continued with four-star 2028 QB Kaden Craft visiting and continued interest in 2026 WR Jay Duncan.
