Owner of Sex and the City Building Gets Gate Approval

Barbara Lorber, the homeowner, expressed that the constant influx of fans taking photos and engaging in disruptive behavior has made living there increasingly untenable. Despite historical significance, the brownstone has become a global tourist destination, leading to disturbances such as graffiti and loud gatherings. Lorber recounted how her initial sympathy for a location scout led to the building's fame, but after over two decades of enduring the attention, she felt it necessary to seek a more substantial barrier. The planned gate aims to restore a reasonable quality of life for the residents while respecting the building's historic status.
