Boone County Woman Arrested After Crash Injuring 8 Including 5 Children

A Boone County woman, Rebecca Ann Romine, was arrested for a multi-vehicle crash in October that injured eight people, including five children, with three requiring airlifting due to severe injuries. Romine was found to have methamphetamine, benzodiazepine, alprazolam, and amphetamine in her system and faces multiple charges including felonies such as second degree battery and endangering the welfare of a minor. Separately, Leslie M. Richardson, a 36-year-old woman from Greensboro, Alabama, died in a single-vehicle crash when her car left the road and struck a tree early on July 14; she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating Richardson's fatal crash located about 15 miles north of Greensboro on Hale County Road 51. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about impaired and unsafe driving, emphasizing the serious consequences for drivers and passengers alike.
