Oman Plans Golden Residency, Elite Firms Initiative, Digital Trade Launch

Oman is set to launch its Golden Residency Programme for investors on August 31, 2025, aimed at attracting foreign capital by providing a stable and opportunity-rich environment for long-term investment and settlement. The launch event, titled 'Sustainable Business Environment,' will be held in Salalah under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and will also introduce the Elite (or 'Glorious'/'Al Majida') Companies Initiative to support high-performing Omani firms in expanding locally and internationally through incentives and facilities. Additionally, a new Commercial Registration Transfer Service utilizing electronic authentication will be inaugurated on the Oman Business Platform to streamline and digitize business transactions, reducing time and costs for investors. The event will feature strategic cooperation agreements with Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology, the Oman Energy Association, and eBinaa Professional Services to enhance development in the construction sector. These initiatives collectively aim to consolidate Oman's position as a competitive global investment destination, foster digital transformation, and support sustainable economic growth. Mubarak bin Mohammed al Dohani, Director-General of Planning at MoCIIP and Head of its Digital Transformation Team, highlighted that these reforms are designed to offer investors long-term stability and growth opportunities while enhancing local firms' competitiveness internationally.
