Michelin Guide Awards 10 Southern US Restaurants Stars, Bib Gourmand Distinctions

The Michelin Guide's 2025 American South edition has expanded to include 228 restaurants across six states, recognizing culinary excellence and value in the region. While Alabama did not receive any Michelin Stars, several of its restaurants, including The Noble South in Mobile, earned the Bib Gourmand distinction for offering great food at a great value. In contrast, New Orleans and Baton Rouge saw multiple restaurants recognized, with Emeril's in New Orleans receiving two Michelin Stars and several others earning stars or being recommended. Atlanta maintained its reputation as a culinary hub with nine restaurants retaining Michelin Stars, including Bacchanalia and The Chastain, which also received Michelin Green Stars for sustainability. The guide highlights the rich and diverse cuisine of the American South, from Southern staples to international flavors, and celebrates chefs' craftsmanship and innovation. This inaugural regional guide marks a significant milestone for Southern dining on the national and international stage.
