Cincinnati Bengals, Hamilton County Finalize $470M Paycor Stadium Renovation Deal

The Cincinnati Bengals and Hamilton County have finalized an 11-year lease extension for Paycor Stadium, securing the team's downtown home through at least 2036, with an option to extend through 2046. The agreement includes $470 million in renovations, with Hamilton County contributing $350 million and the Bengals $120 million, significantly less than the original $830 million proposal. Planned upgrades encompass improvements to club lounges, suites, concessions, scoreboards, and general stadium infrastructure, aiming to maintain Paycor Stadium as a top-tier venue. Bengals Executive Vice President Katie Blackburn emphasized the deal's importance in solidifying the team's future in Cincinnati and enhancing the fan experience. However, some local officials, such as County Commissioner Alicia Reece, have raised concerns, advocating for voter approval of the lease due to the financial burden on taxpayers. The Bengals are also working to secure additional state funding to support the renovation efforts, similar to recent funding provided to the Cleveland Browns for their new stadium.
