Arkansas ICAC Task Force Makes Dozens Arrests Rescues Nationwide Operations
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force successfully concluded two major operations, Operation Safe Online Summer (SOS) and Operation Cookie Crumbs, targeting online child exploitation in April and May 2025. Operation SOS, part of a nationwide initiative involving all 61 ICAC Task Forces, focused on investigating child sexual abuse material trafficking, identifying offenders, and increasing prevention through public outreach, analyzing over 13 terabytes of data from 248 devices. Operation Cookie Crumbs, a state-led effort inspired by browser cookies, concentrated on tracking digital footprints of known offenders, conducting compliance checks, and identifying emerging threats, resulting in one child rescued and two additional victims identified. These operations led to dozens of arrests, multiple child rescues, and significant progress in combating internet-facilitated crimes against children in Arkansas. Alongside enforcement, the ICAC Task Force expanded public education efforts across the state to raise awareness about recognizing and reporting online child exploitation. Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious online activity or suspected exploitation to local law enforcement or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline.
