PSG Shortlists Massy, Poissy Sites for Future 90,000-Seat Stadium
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is actively exploring new stadium options outside Paris as the club seeks to own a larger, modern venue that aligns with its recent Champions League success and long-term growth ambitions. Due to Paris city hall's refusal to sell Parc des Princes, where PSG currently plays and pays significant rent, the club has shortlisted two potential sites: Massy to the south of Paris and Poissy to the west, where PSG already has its training center. Poissy, supported by local authorities and located on land owned by automotive firm Stellantis, has presented a concrete proposal for a 90,000-seat stadium with an estimated cost exceeding €1 billion, promising economic benefits for the club and the region. PSG emphasizes that no final decision has been made yet, with further feasibility studies planned and a final announcement expected by autumn 2026, after the upcoming municipal elections which may impact the stadium's future. While Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo remains open to renovating Parc des Princes, she continues to oppose its sale, prompting PSG to pursue a new home to sustain competitiveness and business growth akin to top European clubs. The new stadium project aims to incorporate international models, combining sports infrastructure with real estate development to create a sustainable and ambitious venue for decades to come.
