Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly undermining Mumbai's identity and resources during a recent visit by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Raut expressed concerns that the BJP may even attempt to move the Lalbaugcha Raja, a significant cultural icon in Mumbai, to Gujarat, echoing fears that the party has already shifted many industries and institutions from Maharashtra. He accused Shah of playing 'dirty politics' to weaken Maharashtra and claimed that the government has failed in maintaining law and order in the state. Additionally, he challenged Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, asserting that he lacks the insight to understand NCP chief Sharad Pawar's political strategies. Raut's remarks reflect the heightened tensions as assembly elections loom on the horizon, with his party asserting its opposition to the BJP's influence in Maharashtra.
