Patti Smith's 50th Anniversary 'Horses' Tour Announced
Patti Smith is embarking on a special tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her seminal 1975 debut album, 'Horses'. This tour, marking the first time in 20 years she will perform the album in full, kicks off on October 6 in Dublin and concludes on November 29 in Philadelphia. Accompanying Smith will be original band members Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty, as well as Tony Shanahan and her son, Jackson Smith. The tour will include stops in major cities across Europe and the US, with notable performances at the London Palladium and the Met in Philadelphia. Ahead of the tour, Smith will be honored with a tribute concert at New York's Carnegie Hall on March 26, featuring artists like Michael Stipe and Kim Gordon. 'Horses' is recognized as a pioneering work in punk rock and has been preserved in the National Recording Registry.
