Procession Honors 3 Fallen York County Police Officers

A procession is underway to honor three Northern York County Regional Police officers—Detective Isaiah Emenheiser, Detective Mark Baker, and Detective Sergeant Cody Becker—who were fatally shot while serving an arrest warrant in North Codorus Township, Pennsylvania. The officers, all long-time veterans with a combined nearly six decades of service, were ambushed by 24-year-old Matthew James Ruth, who was armed and hiding inside a home. Two other officers were seriously injured in the attack, and Ruth was subsequently shot and killed by a responding detective. The procession began at the York County Coroner's Office and is traveling through multiple counties, ending in the Lehigh Valley where the officers' bodies will undergo autopsy and be honored. Numerous law enforcement agencies and community members have gathered along the route and at vigils to pay their respects, with donations being collected to support the fallen officers' families. This tragic event has united departments across the state in mourning and remembrance of the fallen officers' dedication and sacrifice.
