Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck in Talks for Comedy Reunion
Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck, stars of the iconic 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, are in final talks to reunite onscreen for the first time in decades in the comedy The Best Is Yet to Come. The new film, a remake of a 2019 French movie, will feature the duo as lifelong best friends who embark on a road trip after a misunderstanding leads one to believe the other has only months to live. During their journey, they seek out the estranged son of one of them and attempt to accomplish life goals they've long neglected. The script is written by Allan Loeb and directed by Jon Turteltaub, with production targeted for this summer and backing from Lionsgate and MRC. While they have not acted together since Ferris Bueller, Broderick and Ruck have maintained a close friendship over the years. The project is generating excitement, especially among fans eager to see the beloved pair share the screen again.
