Athletics Acquire Ross Stripling from Giants

The San Francisco Giants traded Ross Stripling and cash to the Oakland Athletics for Jonah Cox. Stripling struggled in his first season with the Giants after signing a two-year, $25 million contract, and Cox has played center field, left field, and shortstop in the minor leagues. Stripling is scheduled to make $12.5 million in 2024, and it is reported that the Giants will pay $3.25 million of Stripling's salary as part of the deal. The Athletics are expected to have Stripling join their rotation, but given Stripling's struggles and the A's poor offense, wins could be hard to come by.
