Pedestrian Dies in Lorry Crash on A38 Burton
A man in his 30s died after being struck by an articulated lorry on the A38 southbound near Shobnall Bridge, between Clay Mills and the Branston junction in Burton-on-Trent. The collision occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, June 27, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The lorry driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police inquiries. The A38 road was closed overnight and reopened at 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 28. Staffordshire Police have appealed for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the pedestrian prior to the collision, to come forward to aid the investigation. The deceased's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
