Majority of Greenlanders Favor Joining U.S.

A recent poll conducted by Patriot Polling indicates that 57.3% of Greenlanders support the idea of joining the United States, while 37.4% oppose it, and 5.3% remain undecided. The survey, conducted between January 6-11, coincided with a visit from Donald Trump Jr. to Greenland. President-elect Donald Trump has previously expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, citing national security concerns related to China and Russia. Despite the poll's findings, skepticism remains about the feasibility of such a move, with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stating that Greenland is not for sale. This survey marks the first of its kind conducted in Greenland, although it has drawn attention to the low credibility rating of Patriot Polling. Observers note that the notion of U.S. acquisition of Greenland has been largely dismissed by both the Danish government and international experts.
