Mumbai Defeats Bengal in Ranji Trophy Group B

In Elite Group B of the Ranji Trophy, Mumbai defeated Bengal by an innings and four runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. With four wins in five matches, the 41-time Ranji champions once again extended a huge lead at the top with 27 points, while it was almost curtains for Bengal who have 12 points after five games now. In the second innings, Mohit Avasthi took 7 for 52 for the visitors, as Bengal were bowled out for 209. Abishek Porel scored 82 for Bengal, but it wasn't enough. In other matches, Services beat Haryana by one run in Rohtak, and Karnataka defeated Railways by one wicket in Surat.
