Kerala Reports More Negative Nipah Test Results

Kerala's Health Minister Veena George reported that three additional individuals tested negative for the Nipah virus, raising the total number of negative cases to 78 amid an ongoing outbreak. The contact list now includes 267 people, with 81 being healthcare workers; 177 are on the primary list, 134 of whom are considered high-risk. Currently, four individuals are receiving treatment at Manjeri Medical College, and 28 others at MES Medical College in Perinthalmanna. Psychological support is being offered to 276 individuals on the contact list. The Health Minister also mentioned that arrangements have been made for the Nipah victim's classmates, currently quarantined in Bengaluru, to take their university exams. The state remains vigilant, having experienced similar outbreaks in the past, including one earlier this year.
