Lokedi, Korir Win 2025 Boston Marathon, Set Records

At the 2025 Boston Marathon, Sharon Lokedi won the women's race in 2:17:22, setting a new course record and defeating two-time champion Hellen Obiri by 19 seconds. Lokedi, a 2022 New York City Marathon winner, celebrated with her mother at the finish. In the men's race, Kenya's John Korir finished first in 2:04:45, the second-fastest time in event history, after surging ahead at mile 20. John and his brother, 2012 champion Wesley Korir, became the first siblings to both win Boston. Tanzania’s Alphonce Felix Simbu finished second in the men's race, and American Conner Mantz narrowly missed the podium. The marathon also commemorated Boston's 250th Revolutionary War anniversary with special festivities and ideal weather.
