Mild Week, Gusty Winds, Cold Front Monday
A broad area of high pressure will keep the nation mostly dry and sunny through much of the week, allowing temperatures to warm into the 60s and 70s and locally low 80s by late week. Rain chances are low, with only a few stray or occasional showers possible late Friday into the weekend and little expectation of a more widespread system. Several regions will see increased winds midweek—gusts up to about 40 mph in parts of Colorado and stronger gusts on desert slopes—and the breezy, dry pattern raises localized fire danger toward the end of the week. A colder air mass or frontal passage is expected late Sunday into Monday, bringing a sharp temperature drop with some Monday highs near 60 and overnight lows possibly in the 30s. The Atlantic tropics are quiet with no expected development over the next week.
