Irondale Police Lt. Meadows Dies in Traffic Incident
Lt. Mark Meadows, a respected member of the Irondale Police Department, was tragically killed while directing traffic at the Church of the Highlands' '21 Days of Prayer' event in Irondale, Alabama. Meadows, who served the community for over 30 years, was struck by a vehicle on Grants Mill Road and later died at Grandview Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old, remained at the scene, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the incident. Meadows was remembered as a true public servant and family man, with condolences pouring in from neighboring police departments and the community. Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart Jr. and Church of the Highlands' senior pastor Chris Hodges expressed their sorrow and offered support to Meadows' family. Grief support is being provided to the Irondale Police Department, and Meadows' legacy of service is being honored.
