Capitol Heights Man Charged with Murder of Girlfriend

Devontae Gray, 30, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and related offenses following the discovery of his girlfriend Alexis Schuler's remains in his Capitol Heights home. Schuler, reported missing on January 14, was found in a 'makeshift tomb' constructed by Gray, who admitted to shooting her after a dispute. Her body, concealed in a plastic storage bin and encased with concrete, was hidden behind a newly constructed wall. The Prince George’s County Police Department, assisted by the Metropolitan Police Department, discovered the remains during a search warrant execution on January 19. Gray took extensive measures to hide the body, using construction materials like cement and faux bricks, as revealed by surveillance footage. The case has shocked the community and added to the ongoing concern over domestic-related murders in the area.
