Bee Attacks in India Raise Safety Concerns

Recent incidents in India highlight the dangers of bee attacks at popular tourist locations. At Shivneri Fort, nine individuals were injured by a swarm of bees during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary celebrations, with rising temperatures and human disturbances cited as possible triggers. In another tragic event at Karnala Bird Sanctuary near Mumbai, Sandeep Purohit, a 44-year-old tourist, died after being attacked by bees, possibly due to an allergic reaction or a head injury from a fall while fleeing. Eight others were also injured in the Karnala incident, and authorities are investigating the causes behind these aggressive bee behaviors. These incidents underscore the potential hazards posed by bees when provoked, possibly by strong smells or environmental changes.
