Owen Freeman Transfers from Iowa to Creighton
Owen Freeman, a former standout player for Iowa, has committed to transferring to Creighton, where he will replace the departing Ryan Kalkbrenner, a notable player for the Bluejays. Freeman, a 6-foot-10 center, averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds over 19 games with Iowa before a finger injury ended his season early. He was highly ranked in the transfer portal, being the top center available and ranked No. 8 overall by 247Sports. Freeman's decision comes after Iowa's head coach Fran McCaffery was fired and replaced by Ben McCollum from Drake. Creighton, which has been consistently successful under head coach Greg McDermott, is expected to significantly benefit from Freeman's mix of finesse and physicality on the court. Freeman will have two years of eligibility remaining to contribute to the Bluejays' future successes.
