Weather and Budgets Disrupt July 4th Celebrations

Several communities faced disruptions to their July 4th celebrations due to adverse weather conditions and financial constraints. Flint's 'Movies Under the Stars' event was canceled due to thunderstorms, with a new date to be announced. St. Louis-area municipalities postponed or canceled fireworks shows because of heavy rain and flash flood warnings. Sarasota's Bayfront Park fireworks show is at risk of being discontinued without significant financial support. Despite a scaled-back celebration, Appleton's fireworks show proceeded and was well-received by attendees.
