Father and Stepmother Convicted in Sara Sharif Murder

Sara Sharif, a 10-year-old girl, suffered horrific abuse at the hands of her father, Urfan Sharif, and stepmother, Beinash Batool, leading to her death on August 8, 2023. Prosecutors revealed she had 71 external injuries, including burns, bite marks, and multiple fractures, from a prolonged campaign of violence. Despite being described as a 'happy' and 'bubbly' child, Sara was often forced to hide her injuries and was subjected to strict and abusive discipline. Urfan Sharif admitted to being a 'cruel father' who lost his temper, but claims he did not intend to kill her. Both he and Batool were found guilty of murder, while Sharif's uncle, Faisal Malik, was convicted of causing or allowing her death. Social services and authorities failed to act despite numerous red flags and warnings from neighbors and teachers about the ongoing abuse.
