Keira Knightley Embraces 'Nepo Baby' Label

Keira Knightley openly embraced the “nepo baby” label on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, saying she isn’t annoyed by it. She credited her parents—playwright/screenwriter Sharman MacDonald and stage actor Will Knightley—for giving her early industry connections, including a first agent who was her mother’s best friend and still represents her. Knightley said acting often runs in families because it’s a lifestyle and childhood exposure, but stressed that connections only open doors and performers must deliver or they’ll be “chucked out” quickly. She added that her two children currently show no interest in acting, but if they chose that path they would have to contend with the same label.
